@headphones for me the reason is simply that it's a great movie too ahead of its time when it was released.

@darkeve the new edition just came out, so you should be able to find it more easily; it's available in stores now. Let me know what you think if you manage to get it! @lostinspace giving this movie a 2 is a bit harsh, to be honest. I think it’s normal for any film adapted from books or stories to distance itself from the source material. For example, I’m Not Afraid is another beautiful film, regardless of the book. Moreover, the last New Year’s of humanity is simply a short story, not even a novel, so it's natural that there would be changes in a film adapted from a short story. The key point is what comes out of it, regardless of the novel or story it’s based on. The narrative structure doesn’t waver for a second; everything is perfectly in place.

Hi Darkeve, I haven't read it, I knew it was based on that story and sooner or later I will get it. I have only read "Branchie" by Ammaniti, and I highly recommend you watch the movie because it’s truly worth it; for me, it's a masterpiece. Yes, "Bartleboom" was in theaters for only a week and then they pulled it out, only to re-release it sometime later but without much success, probably due to its extreme approach and the uniqueness of the film. In what sense could I have enjoyed it more heart to heart? Thanks everyone!!
