Felo, you said it yourself: "three-minute songs, the same old stuff that's been going around for 10 years." By the way, the same old stuff that's been going around for 10 years, where? In another galaxy, space-time?

Well... Felo, you couldn't have ended the discussion in a better way :-D

he enjoys, absolutely, and while my guitar gently weeps, within u without u, the inner light, he didn't write a lot, but when he did... he signed classics. I add a rating to the review that I had missed, and by the way, live at bbc is the only one of the Beatles that I don’t know.

yes yes vitols, I completely understood your comment that I quoted and praised, as I was saying, post 109 was in response to 107 by giola, hehe sometimes it’s a mess with these posts :-D

Post 109 was a reply to giola.

I don't know if you were referring to me, but obviously the song was ironic, in response to what Felo is saying. In short, I think the post is clear regarding the issue.

So, Felo, let's see "the 3-minute songs, the same stuff that's been going around for 10 years" (!?) would be tunes like "A Day in the Life," "I Am the Walrus," "Norwegian Wood," "I Want You," "Tomorrow Never Knows," "Strawberry Fields Forever," "Blue Jay Way," "Within You Without You," "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds," "Happiness Is a Warm Gun," "Dear Prudence," "Only a Northern Song," "It's All Too Much," "Rain," "Across the Universe"... I could go on for hours, so I better stop. I mean, do you know the pieces from AT LEAST Rubber Soul onward? Because all those tracks are "3-minute tunes, the same stuff that's been going around for 10 years?" Because if that's the case, I'm afraid there's little to discuss, in the sense that we think exactly the opposite. For me, experimenting means experimenting with sounds, compositions, the way of writing, playing, and conceiving the "song form." The Beatles did all of this, literally creating a world. If for you, experimenting means exclusively making 15-minute tracks often just to stretch things out, then I think there's little to say.

I quote enbar, it's very true that Rubber Soul heavily influenced Wilson's desire to release an album like Pet Sounds. Then again, let's not even get into the issues of "the Beatles made pop songs and have nothing to do with experimentation, etc. etc."—it's best to keep that quiet. I just want to say that maybe they should be listened to a little more carefully, because experimentation isn't just, to name one, the 20-minute chaos of Sister Ray (I love the Velvet Underground too, just to clarify).

Yes, direct, like a piece by The Clash, indeed.
