Blur and Oasis are literally at opposite poles; Blur have ranged so much from one genre to another that it's impossible to categorize them under a single term. The term Britpop really doesn't make sense, by the way; for example, grunge made a bit of sense, at least in attitude, even if the bands had nothing to do with it musically. Britpop doesn't even have that.

Indeed, Magical Mystery Tour shouldn't be underestimated; there are also Blue Jay Way, Hello Goodbye, All You Need Is Love, Flying, and the title track. I see it as a sort of album that completes the "quadrilogy" of Rubber Soul-Revolver-Sgt. Pepper-Magical Mystery. Then there's the second volume of Past Masters to catch up on, featuring tracks like We Can Work It Out, Paperback Writer, Rain, Revolution, Hey Jude, The Inner Light, etc., etc., etc. In short, I would essentially say everything from Rubber Soul onward, and then to A Hard Day's Night and Help. To respond to Fuggitivo, beautiful review; I have the Anthology by Lennon that was released about 12 years ago.

Donald Duck throwing a tomato in Hitler's face is one of the most liberating and powerful images of the time, something that goes far beyond simple propaganda; it is a profoundly universal symbol.

paralyzing cover, remove the word "metro" and put "door to door" instead and no one will notice

maybe not the absolute best but definitely one of the best of Pink Floyd without a doubt for me as well. As for the last ones, I don't know, The Final Cut bores me terribly, A Momentary Lapse of Reason is just plain bad for me, and The Division Bell is probably the best of the three, but it feels a bit "plastic," I don't know if you understand what I mean, it just doesn’t feel sincere, not heartfelt. Some tracks are musically good, especially A Great Day for Freedom, which has a thrilling solo, but it's never convinced me.

But felo, excuse me, without polemics, when and where because I really can't understand what you mean, I mean rubber soul - revolver - sgt pepper and magical mystery tour - respectively 65 - 66 - 67, now in 55 - 56 - 57 you want to tell me that they were already making songs like that, so?

I just re-listened to that masterpiece of The Wall, more and more convinced that there are no Pink Floyd after that album, a perfect closure to their story.
