@rdegioann I don’t know if you were referring to me, but I simply don’t like Gorillaz, The Good The Bad and The Queen, Mali Music, and also Democrazy just because of personal taste, while absolutely respecting and acknowledging their value, of course. Hello!

mm beyond that I keep saying that Coxon has the technical skills (of course along with much more), and I'm not the only one saying it (both here and in international music criticism outlets), as for my passion for them, it's undoubtedly true, but without exaggerating, because it's also true that for example I've never really liked Albarn outside of Blur, neither with Gorillaz nor with other bands or as a solo artist, and I've often mentioned this in various comments, while I've always loved Coxon as a solo artist. I completely agree about the minimum of fanaticism that makes Deb "cheerful and goofy," at least it adds a bit of fun :-) ciao

The fact that I love Blur doesn’t take away from the issues that should be objective, Alexander. They may or may not be liked, of course, but they deserve respect for what they have accomplished.

@deviljin the first album is their only one that's just barely sufficient; in the following ones, the Verdena have nothing to do with grunge at all. Just listen to the psychedelic-divagations - noise of just a big stone and requiem. In this album, there are fewer digressions (although in tracks like glamodrama and the almost title track, they take center stage), focusing more on song structure, often melancholic, psychedelic, and dreamy (balanite, 40 seconds of nothing, 17 trucks in the courtyard, far fisa). The best Italian band around, I'm looking forward to the new (double) album that will be released soon.

The review is well done, the Depeche Mode have always been unbearable.

@alexander77 the brilliance and versatility of Albarn and Coxon is undeniable, just look at their work with and without Blur.

Hi rdegioann, very nice, concise, pleasant, and complete. The vote goes to Albarn since I don't know the album, but the idea of offering a whole album for free deserves a 5 regardless (but at this point, I think I'll give it a listen). As for Blur, they are either back in the studio or going to record a new album which is supposed to be released, it seems, at the end of 2011. Check it out here Blur: ancora indiscrezioni. In studio già da gennaio?

After a while, I return to give the album a rating, which has increased.
