Francesco Guccini Via Paolo Fabbri 43

Guccini is also the one of "L'avvelenata" and "Il pensionato." FORTUNATELY, what you want to hear instead is something else and it clashes irreparably with what Guccini is, and with what he has felt compelled to convey over the years in the form of song.

The joke is enjoyable when it lasts a short time, come on, do I have to believe you’re a fake? You’re a fan of Italian singer-songwriter music (I gathered that from all the reviews you’ve sent), not a black metal enthusiast who only gets off on Burzum’s albums, so you can’t keep trashing the records that have made history. It can happen, and it’s perfectly valid that tastes vary, but it feels like you’re forcing yourself to be contrary. The review, as usual, is well written but, once again, commits the horrible sin of failing to entice listeners to check out those albums, which, with all the crap floating around in 2014, is truly a crime. There’s a limit to everything, even to tastes.

I'm halfway through the album and I'm positively surprised, well beyond my expectations at least. Before I give an objective assessment, I obviously need to finish it and listen to it a few more times, but the sound it's built around already appeals to me. I'm getting pumped up, so now I'm going to have a couple of Negronis and hit the street to take it out on the old ladies. The photo doesn't do justice to a cover that I find fantastic! immagine:1q4aewy

I still find this story that the album "Guccini" is a monument amusing, especially if you then consider this, Signora Bovary, Folk Beat, and Due anni dopo as mediocre. I think Metropolis is much fresher, more inspired, and more exciting than the subsequent album, which I still consider a good record, although it might be the one I listen to the least among all his works. Anyway, even wanting to make a track-by-track comparison, I don't understand how "Guccini" could come out on top, even leaving Venice out of the comparison. (1) Byzantium VS Autogrill: this is a nice matchup; although Byzantium is (this is) a monument, I don't find a true winner, both are gems. (2) Argentina VS Antenor: I've reassessed Argentina over time but there's no contest, Antenor is definitely on another level. (3) Gulliver VS Bologna: Gulliver is a really nice song, but Bologna is Bologna, that's it. (4) Shomer ma mi llailah VS Lager: Shomer is a rather renowned track that I find just nice; "Lager" is definitely more interesting and heartfelt. (5) Black Out VS Inutile: I appreciate both but I prefer Black Out by a good margin. (6) Gli amici VS Milano: Gli amici barely wins the comparison; I like Milano, but it's last in preference among the 7. In any case, I think it's impossible to compare it with Metropolis, let alone consider the latter the weak point. If you're not entirely convinced, go ahead and throw in "Venezia" as well, and best wishes, if only for having chosen it and presented it in such an engaging way and for having made it known to the wider public (myself included).

To finish the reading, I had to give myself an injection of epinephrine, but the story (excluding the first paragraph) is clear and told with a lot of passion. Bravo! And fuck you, Steve, for not liking the Primus :P (the rating for the live is based on trust)
