Steven Wilson - Van Der Graaf Generator Live @ Pistoia Blues, Pistoia 05.07.13

As I was saying, I would have given an arm to be there, maybe not, but I like to think so. The night before (the 4th), I saw Wilson (without Van :() in Rome, a true artist and an amazing group, very tight-knit. I had seen them about a year ago, before the release of The Raven, and this time there was an added Govan making a difference, and it was quite noticeable in some moments. Unfortunately, though, Minnemann was missing (on tour with the super bald guy, indeed). Chad is great (if you've been Zappa's drummer for 10/15 albums or however many, you have to be good), but he limited himself to playing the basics, let's put it that way, while Minnemann has an incredible feeling and synergy with the band, especially live. He adds so much of his own flair, creativity, and enriches every single piece; I really felt his absence, perhaps more than I felt Govan's absence before he arrived. I've read half of the review so far; as soon as I find the right motivation, I'll read the other half too :) (power of the moon crystal, come to me!)

the words I wanted to tell you have already been told to you by Bartle (bad Bartle, bad!), so I shall remain silent. Beautiful Hell :)

I watched the entire movie, but it was really tough to get through to the end, damn the diocese, I would add, if you don't mind. I've seen many slow and heavy films, but this one almost killed me, especially with that almost square video format... my obsessive-compulsive syndrome was affected right from the start. Halfway through, I paused it, also because my girlfriend had collapsed on the floor, writhing with convulsions after 10 minutes and a little bit of Fernet. By myself, I decided to pick it up again just to see it through to the end, more out of sheer stubbornness than anything else. Maybe I wasn't in the mood for a film like that, so I don't feel like discouraging anyone from watching it, but for God's sake.

downloaded, played, stopped, and removed the record 3/4 into the first track. I’m not in the mood for this right now; when the time comes, I’ll put it back on (and I’ll also re-read the review properly). These days, I’ve been listening to Run Thick In The Night by U.S. Christmas a lot (which has nothing to do with it).
