Rece toooo funny! :D Regarding the album, one of the great masterpieces of Canterbury, I place it right behind all the true masterpieces of Canterbury, following closely, at the very end, holding the cloak, you see. Jokes aside, eight years after the review of the legendary Giona, my rating for this good album remains unchanged: 3.5. This time I round it down to 3 though to slightly balance the enthusiasm, eh. It alternates engaging and substantial passages with others that I find a bit trivial. Campbell's voice is still splendid, though it's a shame it's so sparse. Back then, if you didn't give him mega suites completely instrumental, you were nobody, uncle.

It feels like one of those posts on Faccialibro where the funny friend finds your unattended account and writes: "I'm gay." Lots of laughs.

The review is nice but drops a couple of half-spoilers that aren't so great; by the beginning of the film, I already knew I had to worry about the mother and not the "monster." However, it has the merit of introducing me to one of the few decent "horror" films in recent years. My friends appreciated it less, but on the other hand, I had to explain to them why in the last scene the mother decides to celebrate her son's birthday for the first time on the exact day.

I'll then take my time to read it again (a lot of time :D). But is there a link/torrent to download the album? I couldn't find it anywhere; back in the day, I used to grab it on Soulseek before the official release, but it doesn't work anymore with Windows 8, or maybe I'm just setting it up wrong, who knows, anyway, what a disaster.

This little page is really nice, even though while I was reading it, I was kicking myself for missing it this summer in Rome. I wanted to go, but in the end, I gave up due to that infamous fifty, 25 I had already spent on the Mogwai the day before (who were absolutely awesome, by the way). I won't miss the next one, though!

Well done, great suggestion. I remember this one (from the cool cover) that I liked, very enjoyable. Somewhere on the hard drive, I should also have the other one.

let's say it's a 4 that has endless homonyms for breakfast, and let's cut to the chase. The 5, on the other hand, is a lifelong slap to Folk Beat N.1 from the same year, and also to Due anni dopo, there you go.

4, but already very large. From the next one, the 5 begins (Volume 3 included).

It's nice to see all this enthusiasm for Verdena; they deserve it. I mean, there have always been enthusiasts, but I also remember a lot of people who were critical for the sake of being critical; the debaserian opinion sometimes changes like the wind (see Teatro degli orrori). I'm enjoying the album and it's growing on me, but two things have been bothering me from the start: the production and the choice of certain distortions (especially the vocal ones), which result in a dirty sound instead of a sandy or rocky one—just dirty, shitty. It's like when you crank the levels on the equalizer too high. I thought it was the damn mp3, but the album sounds the same. The same goes for WOW, although in a milder form. This drives me crazy because it seems like a poorly executed job, while in reality, they are targeted choices. To put it in perspective, any drone/stoner album has way more distortions, but when you listen to it, you don't doubt that the file is damaged or badly recorded, for crying out loud. "Scii desertico" is a glaring example; it's also the only track I would definitely cut from the tracklist (maybe along with "Diluvio," do you really like it that much? o.O The initial part is nice, but then, I don't know, it drags on). The production (I agree with Zanna) doesn't do it justice; the bass often sounds like shit, and that's a shame. From this perspective, they've taken a huge step back compared to Requiem, where they found a sound that fit them perfectly; the volume settings and the timbre of the instruments were different, the sound was gritty but refined, THERE'S A DIFFERENCE. Take the mixer away from Alberto. On the podium, I would place: "Inno del perdersi" (absolutely), "Rilievo," and "Contro la ragione," followed closely by "Derek."
