Mike Oldfield Crises
Voto:
Well-produced and packaged album. However, I never had the courage or the desire to buy it. I had someone who lent it to me. I saw Oldfield a few years later - Discovery tour - at the Arena di Verona. It was a great concert, with S. Phillipps on drums. Truly beautiful.

Shameful record.
Annie Lennox Diva
Voto:
In general, I have never been interested in her music. A little anecdote: a few years ago, Annie was passing through the airport of Tessera-Venice. A girl approached her to say hello. Annie rudely pushed her away, muttering some incomprehensible words. Then she vanished into the VIP area. Sympathy, politeness, and availability don’t always go hand in hand with talent. I was present, just a few meters away.
Robbie Williams Sing When You're Winning

Cover (ugly) aside, this is a little psychopathic jerk who has found a way to rake in pounds by the bucketful. I hope, for his sake, he has saved up plenty, because he seems mentally spent by now.
David Bowie The Next Day

I round it up to 4, out of appreciation. For me, it's a good album. I expected much, much worse. If anyone is still waiting for albums like Low or Lodger - just to name two examples - ....good night!!!

...and then, regarding what Waters has declared - or continues to declare to this day - I would be cautious. About ten years ago, or a little more, he claimed that the PF were dead already after the release of TDSOTM. Too bad he kept complaining - so to speak - until The Final Cut.

Mmmmhhh....let's say it's a useless album but it has earned another nice chunk of pounds for Gilmour & co. Anyway, I've never liked it.

I find it very enjoyable. An excellent album. Underrated?
Roxy Music Viva!
Voto:
Not to brag, but I own all their vinyls, up to Avalon. Very nice live. No need to add anything else. Long live Roxy!!!!
David Bowie The Next Day

Honestly, I was expecting a half-baked effort. I should say that I absolutely love Bowie and I own his entire discography, including the duds. Instead, this album surprised me. Not a masterpiece, but I find it very beautiful in its simplicity. Some echoes of Scary Monsters resurface, and sometimes (too bad there's none) Fripp's guitar. In short, it's well packaged, played, and sung.
