Ligabue Buon compleanno Elvis

This album is from '95; in Italy in '95, much better stuff was coming out, not just at an independent and underground level, but also at a more "mainstream" level.

It's not necessarily true that a 1 is always a vote motivated by prejudices (many times it is). I didn't listen to Ligabue because I wanted to hear rock 'n' roll; I listened to this album to see if it was worth it, as many say. I found little even in this one, undoubtedly an uninspired record. One listens to whatever they like, and I could understand if someone gave a 5 to Metallic K.O. and a 5 to this, then the discussion would be different, because without spouting a lot of fake-relative nonsense, it’s universally hard not to notice the difference between the two. Regarding the issue of giving a series of ones, I appreciate that on this site we don't take ourselves too seriously, and reading the comments always gives you a good laugh, after all, the rating is just indicative.

@traumacronico: it's still an experience, plus I have a friend who only listens to that, so it came to me indirectly. It's better to give it a listen and see the result rather than giving space to prejudices. In this case, indeed the result was what I expected: negative prejudices, negative reflections after listening. @mopaga: exactly, that's what I'm saying. Very often our discussions, by now, are based on the poetic constructions of fanatics: Liga writes some nonsense, the gullible take it as episteme, and it's been going on like this for at least 10 years, actually, even longer.

It's Ligabue who pretends to be a rocker, the most he can do as far as I'm concerned is play the guitar on Sundays in the holy abode of God.

In my opinion, this never had much to say, even before. The album in question is adequate, but it says little, leaving you with just that little something that a simple and bland rock album provides. In short, it's an album lacking enough vitality to make rock and displaying no great originality. The only thing I appreciate are the lyrics, among the few I actually value from Ligabue. His latest albums not only show a careless and more faded Ligabue than he already was in my view, but they also reveal a gaping void of poetic substance compensated by empty words, often reflecting a Ligabue living off his past fame with the image of the pathetic pseudo-rocker spaghetti (very pathetic), releasing cheap albums and collecting compilations galore that the masses then turn into "masterpieces."

All bullshit rhetoric, nothing in practice. This speech is not new, modern politics has been like this for a long time. Berlusconi has always been a great speaker, I hate speakers.

Don't fade photocopies in my opinion, but inferior to "Good," which is the manifesto of their incredible sound.

I Morphine are a group I totally love, and Mark Sandman is one of my favorite musicians, a reference point both as a bassist and as an artist. Among the top three, I definitely prefer "Good"; all three are still at fantastic levels, though. It's true, Sandman and the others dared, oh how they dared. A sound you don't hear often.

A somewhat naive review for a similarly naïve singer.
