Ligabue Secondo tempo

Clako, open your mouth (or rather, write comments) to give him some air. First of all, I want to emphasize that you don't grade your own review, and for this, I give you a 1. I'd like to point out that in a review, what matters is not the score it gets, because if you review an album criticized by everyone and you praise it, it’s normal for the score to be low, and the same goes for the opposite. So you should really not care about the score, as all sensible people do here on Deb. Secondly, it’s not like the honorary degree was only given to Vasco; in fact, many notable people have received it. Third, "Surely Ligabue is an industry, surely Ligabue heavily relies on clichés in his songs, surely Ligabue remains a very charismatic character, surely Ligabue needs a huge profit to launch visually and choreographically amazing shows like the ones he has accustomed us to... anyway, Ligabue remains a great enthusiast of his profession and proves it by always proposing excellent Pop/Rock/light pieces..." Well, if that’s the case, then surely Ligabue is an idiot, because if he truly loved his profession, he wouldn't expose himself on all possible radio stations with even more pathetic love jingles for us and much more "cool" for the brainless 13-year-old girls. Then, if you’ll allow me, what amazing shows has he gotten us used to if every year he puts on the same clown show of lighters in the sky at San Siro, where people don’t even realize the disgrace they are witnessing, and he makes billions off of it while continuing to wear the same old jacket, blue jeans, and boots to show he’s not like that, and finally drives off in his beautiful luxury car to his big villa in that lovely place called Scorreggio. Returning to the review and the comments, it’s clear: either Sciusciola is your fake account, or it’s your girl. Because otherwise, there would be no explanation.

Always excellent our Psycho, one of the veterans of DeB. Anyway, I think the best of Psycho is definitely that one on the self-titled album by the Cosmic Jokers, truly amazing. That one on Spine of God is beautiful too, but go back and reread the one about the Cosmic... I’ve never heard the album in question, but from how you describe it, it seems like good music, especially since I’m looking for some fun listens (lately, I've been really into "Time to Pretend" by MGMT and "A-Punk" by Vampire Weekend, you know what I mean). I will make sure to listen to something.

@mocampo: well, the album isn't exactly superfluous; on the contrary, despite being quite silly, it's very diverse and undoubtedly original and fun. It's to be avoided mainly if you hate '80s electronics or if you despise the standards of the new millennium where you also have to "look" a certain way. These two, on the other hand, while also showing up and prancing around on MTV with a video (just one), are pretty free (heh, Fridmann is behind this, no joke). So, I think they were needed to shake things up a bit. As for those who referenced Vampire Weekend, I would say their music is different from MGMT's. They both make "indie" music (if you can even call it that, since they're not independent) but stylistically, they are very different since Vampire Weekend sounds more pop and less evocative, while the second part of Oracular is much more experimental at certain points. I think someone may have been misled by the singles "Time to Pretend" (a great song, one of the best on the album) and "Kids" (and this one is misleading, by the way); therefore, this work can easily be snubbed if you're convinced by the silly poses and the melodic pop that the duo puts forth with the first two singles in question. Listen to it without falling into clichés, please.

If you're hard to please then it was a gamble to recommend you stuff like the latest After or even the R.E.M. I also took a look at your old reviews and I see that you have a good but still refined taste, so I understand that these latest works may not satisfy you.

Ah, from Ancona: well, it's always better than Macerata and its surroundings. Anyway, you had already recommended that I check out the old works of the Black Keys in the review of "Attack & Release." I will blaspheme, but alas, I’ve never listened to the first Portishead album, Dummy, which everyone praises. I’ll have to make up for that, but I’m not a fan of trip-hop, although I’ve heard that Dummy has very little to do with the genre. I enjoyed Third and thought it was a fantastic work. Another couple of relevant albums for you could be Accelerate by R.E.M., but you've definitely listened to that, Le labbra by Benvegnù, which I liked even though many are screaming it’s rubbish, and the same goes for the Milanese... from After, but I doubt you haven't listened to that. If you like Malkmus's Jicks, their latest should please you, but a heads-up, don’t expect "Pavement-like" sounds because you won’t find them there. The latest from Motorpsycho annoyed me a bit, but on first listens, it's not bad at all. Anyway, I believe there's more stuff, but this is pretty much what I've listened to.

Well, there are some beautiful albums out there. Didn't you particularly like anything? I don't mind the Black Keys' latest Attack & Release. Third by Portishead is really beautiful, Rest by Samsa is quite brilliant. And among the Italians, how can we not mention the latest from Zen Circus?
