@mien mo man: The review should only be interpreted metaphorically. I played on the pairing of "tea sippers" and "band." The English have labeled them this way, but they make music differently. Each person, as I initially mentioned, has their own diverse musical tastes and their own way of playing the instrument. Of course, Brit Pop is a big and silly term, which is why I poke fun at it, a bit like grunge, shoegaze, or glam rock. It's all stuff from the dry tea English, all stuff invented by them. More than anything, I didn’t take Brit Pop from its technical side, meaning that the bands labeled as such are very different and strongly distinguishable for their music; I took Brit Pop for its darker side, the one that brought them fame as a big thing, a phenomenon of the '90s. That, for example, of Morning Glory or Urban Hymns. It’s the side that has destroyed gems like "A Storm in Heaven" or "Definitely Maybe," music that, let’s face it, was more sincere and less tied to commerce. For me, Brit Pop is a movement that never existed, a bit like grunge, only that in comparison, there isn’t even the attitude. Brit Pop bands don’t play the same music, don’t dress the same, their lyrics don’t talk about similar things; in short, they are more or less all varied. Certainly, if I had taken it from the technical side, I wouldn’t have put Blur and Oasis in the same boat. Then, if you find the album tired, that’s a completely subjective statement depending on the moments when the music is felt. Right now, I’m really in the mood for '90s stuff.

@Hakoss: I agree, Love is Noise is very catchy but lacking in substance, the only redeeming factor is the very (even overly) pompous arrangement. The album itself is, in my opinion, a whole different story; I found it quite diverse.

I like the review. I'm not really a fan of The Offspring, even though two years ago I was crazy about them, along with the bands you mentioned in the first lines. Well, that was the beginning of puberty; Blink-182 were the norm for hormone development. I still listen to "Americana" when the occasion arises; it's pleasant punk rock but nothing special. However, I've never listened to this first EP. It might interest me, even though these days I'm listening to everything except punk.

In reality, it was an ironic take... but then you really know what INDIE is. So why do you insist on labeling all those thousands of English bands that lurk with trendy pop at the people and the majors with the term INDIE? Doesn’t that sound like a contradiction? Honestly, I'm fed up with hearing indie, indie, indie. Indie my ass. I’ll just say: Pavement, Pavement, and more Pavement!!! Modest Mouse, Modest Mouse, Modest Mouse!!!

However, all in all, the vote you cast seems quite reasonable. Let's rebalance.

I had planned to listen to it all, but I didn't. However, I will. The review is interesting in the little I’ve heard; there’s no trace of post-punk. Still, this exaggeration doesn’t take away the four from you, partly because it seems to me that this album hadn’t been reviewed before your arrival, partly because we’re talking about the DS, partly because it’s not poorly written except for a little grammatical error at the beginning (I think I saw it, or was it an optical illusion), and partly for the welcome that gives you an advantage. Welcome.

Interesting, I wasn't aware of this group. The cover is beautiful, you almost made me want to check it out.

Good job, black, I've been meaning to listen to this album for a while, great comment about the difference between Lanegan and Campbell, it was spot on.
