I'm sorry, but Haneke got it wrong:
1- The masterpiece from 1997 has been completely ruined: a sublime Anna has been replaced by a talented, but not chilling Naomi Watts, and Michael Pitt comes off as irritating and not at all ethereal and sinister like the two protagonists in the original version.

2- I hate when some directors (Haneke, Shimizu, Nakata, and many others) remake their successes with Hollywood actors just to line their pockets.

The first Haneke film that is truly unsatisfactory.
