...well... I haven't listened to the album, I've only heard the single... but... "for discerning palates"? But weren't AC/DC the ambassadors of the rougher, more animalistic Rock'N'Roll? Pure energy and adrenaline, high-voltage Rock'N'Roll? Then I don't want to get into the fact that they've been playing the same album for almost 30 years: that's just who they are, take it or leave it... Psycroptic is right, one of the most genuine expressions of Rock'N'Roll, beyond all of this...

@Alex84: uh.. unfortunately, I'm not familiar with these Japanese comics... Coleridge? ...I'll look into it: I’m more aware of Coleridge's poetic works (and I’m not just talking about THAT ballad) and I've never read about a Chrystabel.. could you recommend this reading to me?

Um... what can I say? Thank you all!! @Alex84: well, yes, you’re right, because in the end "Carmilla" is more structured around the coordinates of the story, even if divided into various chapters... then in my opinion, the novelty lies in the absolutely fresh way of presenting this character: it’s obvious that there had been many others between Polidori and Le Fanu, but the figure of the vampire was still very... gloomy? Take something like "La sposa delle Isole": I still see it very much tied to Polidori's imagery, of a vampire more linked to a... magical? conception. It’s an undead, but it’s still far from having those 'classic' characteristics for which it is known today (cemetery dwelling, the ability to transform into a beast, which in Carmilla to be honest remains rather vague, prodigious strength—a trait already present, but now tinted with more mysterious explanations, the ability to pass through unimaginable openings, intolerance towards Christian symbols and rituals), which have been confirmed by "Dracula," but were practically anticipated in every way by "Carmilla," which in this sense marks a break and a novelty compared to the past. Then, yes, the female vampire was already present in the 19th-century artistic imagination (even if it faced stiff competition from figures like the mermaid and Salome), of course, but without the real 'invasiveness' it would have by the end of the century...

...well, here it is, Tomgil, the fact is that the novel is written in a manner that is almost overly simplistic, I would say almost summarizing: from a strictly literary point of view, it is not very polished, but it holds considerable historical significance for the genre...

Hail, Battlegods!! what a cool revelation!! You only find this stuff at some concert or fair stalls now.. for example, I had spotted this collection at a stall at a record fair, but then I opted for a super cool reissue of Angel Witch's debut, packed with bonus tracks: the opportunity was too tempting, but the next time it comes up, I won’t let the Exciter stuff slip away: they really crush it, damn it!!
