@The Green Manalishi: "The Colour Out of Space" is certainly a great story, even though it's not one that I reread often.. by the way, have you ever had the chance to see John Carpenter's "The Thing"? If you haven't seen it yet, I won't spoil anything for you, just a couple of things: setting, a research station in Antarctica (right? damn!! :D), and a "thing" that fell from space which in its own way contaminates whatever it touches, or rather, it becomes contaminated by whatever it comes into contact with!! Does that ring a bell?? :D If you have the chance, definitely watch it!!

Well, I believe that the Mondadori edition (which, by the way, I also own) is indeed the most widely circulated... and it’s also very well done, to be fair... "The Music of Erich Zann" is quite particular, that’s true; during that period, I also adored the tales from the dream cycle, which I had almost turned into my own little religion until about two years ago! ("The Other Gods" is majestic, "The Destruction of Sarnath" sublime, absolutely one of my favorites, and "Nyarlathotep," well, I don’t need to say anything!) Lovecraft is a religion!! :D Jokes aside, he created something truly unique, a completely new and fascinating mythology; there are even esoteric cults that worship the deities of his pantheon, convinced that the mental energy that birthed them in literature may have given them life in a parallel dimension too!! Personally, well, I’m "quite" skeptical, but on certain winter days I like to think that it might also be true: who knows what lies beyond the Threshold..! After all, that Cthulhu waiting and dreaming could also be a very hidden, unacknowledged, forgotten side of our being, ready to emerge under particular, coinciding circumstances ("..when the stars are right..", for example? who knows...)... YA!! SHUB-NIGGURATH!!

Thanks, Girasole! In any case, all my respect for King too! Well, I'll be waiting for your review on "It," that's a really good idea! :D

minkia! thanks to everyone! @Girasole: would the King be King? look, he has all my respect, he’s great, but it’s undeniable that his ideas have a Lovecraftian substrate (do we really want to give an example? then let’s do it: It!) @Gasolio: speaking of the "Innsmouth Mask", did you know that in 2006 a film was made in Italy based on this story but set in Polesine, based on the finding of a letter attributed to the master of Providence (but actually it’s from his friend Galpin)? the film is "Il Mistero Di Lovecraft (A Road To 'L')", if you're interested, although I don't think it’s that exciting, maybe because I watched it in English and only understood bits and pieces while shooting the breeze with my friends, so... @Hell: DO I KNOW THE HOUSE ON THE ABYSS???!!! hell yes, it’s beautiful! when I finished reading it I didn’t feel like walking down the dark hallway of my house, like I usually do! Beautiful, anyway, I almost felt like reviewing it if no one else does! @Paloz: Finish it!! :DD @Anatas: thanks, don’t worry, I know you’re always there for me, my old friend ;D!! @The Green Manalishi: CTHULHU FHTAGN!! :D
