Well, I would never have had the courage to review this work. Sure, your judgment seems a bit hasty and burdened by some prejudices (but who doesn't have them, after all?), some of which I also share (the rigid and, in my opinion, very artificial division between good and evil that Tolkien operates really gets on my nerves; it doesn't exist in any world: his placement in the fantasy universe seems to me like acute simplicity). For the rest, it's a work of art in my opinion, though unfortunately imitated mindlessly by throngs of passive followers.
