Among those I like, there's strillostrano, the Italian way to heavy metal: you probably already know it, the one with the list of all, but really all, the Italian bands from the 80s, even if it only provides in-depth data for a few, still always covering line-up and discography.. I met some of them from there..

Anyway, it seems to me that on Ondarock they slap on categories with great ease... I mean, not that they do it randomly, but they always seem a tad too rigid to me... oh well!

You are absolutely right, oh Battlegods! I also believe that all these excessive classifications and their related complications (like "Band X plays black-death-symphonic-doom-thrash-g rind-fucking-metal... fucking-ass-hole-metal, to be precise!") kill the spontaneity of feeling (e.g.: "no, I don't listen to them because they do power-speed-folk-dick-metal!"). I use few of these classifications, more to generally define what a band sounds like, but in the end, it’s still all metal (except for the posers!;D). In the end, we are all one big family, and instead of standing united, we divide ourselves into so many subgroups... let’s come together!! WE ARE DEFENDERS OF THE FAITH!!
