I have to be the party pooper here. Massive respect for Zorn and all that, but reviews that start with "Tizio is the greatest of all" really aren't my thing. Because it immediately makes you want to respond: "That's total bullshit, it's Sempronio who’s the greatest!" And by the way, I don't get it: is he the greatest or is he on par with Davis and the (notable) company? It has to be one or the other. And is 19th-century post-romanticism the foundation of all music? And where do we put Mozart? And so on, you know. Sorry for the rant, Bisius...

Jake wanted to listen to the album to post a comment that wasn't the usual "Bravo." ;-) In fact, the CD is very beautiful and enjoyable, focusing on original compositions, marked by lightness and sweetness. A nice compromise between communicative urgency and adherence to the jazz stylistic elements that are so dear to our artist. The richness and variety of the themes, combined with improvisations that are not too "aggressive" (but no less intriguing for that), make the album appealing even to those who are not enthusiastic about the idea of listening to an hour of "classic" jazz trio: piano, double bass, and drums. Thanks for the tip! :-)

The cover photo has been retouched to give it a super colorful effect... Let's not forget that the '80s had already begun... Anyway, Chaka Khan at that time had a beautiful afro hairstyle that can be seen better on the back of the cover... It's a shame that over the years she has become overweight, because when she was young, she was a beautiful woman... Check out some photos on the website.
