Antonello Grimaldi Caos Calmo

I confess that I'm very hesitant about going to see the movie because I loved the book so much (like all of Sandro Veronesi's works, after all). As it often happens, I would have never imagined Moretti in the role of Pietro, the protagonist (who in my head has a completely different face). However, many people have spoken well of it, and I'm also curious, plus there's this excellent review... Well, maybe...

Someone had asked me about this in the past, and I can confirm: the wonderful "It's For You" is part of the soundtrack of "Fandango" by Kevin Reynolds, starring Kevin Costner. Aside from that, dear jazzprog, you’re a real kamikaze to take on a review by symbad_bassist! ;-) Anyway, come on, the review is great and brings back to life one of my all-time favorite albums. A few little mistakes here and there; I believe the last track on the CD (and also on the LP) is "Estupenda Graça."
Michael Manring Soliloquy

I quote the reviewer: "a man who too often has gotten lost in useless frivolities", "sounds that are now too new age and now too close to metal." Of this second criticism, I only agree with the first part, as I believe that the heavy metal influences have been filtered in a very original way. Nonetheless, the first two or three albums by Manring, the ones that are overtly new age, do contain brilliant ideas, but they are drowned in a sea of banality. Personal opinion, of course...

Um... Actually, I say that I am NOT qualified to judge classical music... ;-)

I think it's right to mention Dolphy, and then there are many others who have musical tastes different from mine but write really well: mien_mo_man, supersoul, CapitanHowdy... (I apologize to those I forgot). I don't want to come off as the usual relentless optimist (who always ends up looking foolish), but today on the homepage we have: Bach played by Glenn Gould, Gianluigi Trovesi, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton...

Hal I didn't have time to get to know him, although I know his reviews well. I feared the worst for Odra, and unfortunately, you confirm it... It's a big loss for the site because Odra knew a thing or two about music... Well, in the end, these are personal choices. Anyway, what can we do? Let's roll up our sleeves and try to live up to the great ones who have left us...

I don't vote for the work, because how can you vote for Bach? ;-) Beautiful review, short but very effective, that touches on all the right points.
