There’s the Viking among the degenerates, right? Yes? Okay, then I’m at ease. ;-)

A half-genius of understatement. Mick is certainly not very famous, but he definitely deserved this excellent mention. Good job, macaco. Don't get upset about the few visits; unfortunately, that's how it goes for talented musicians who are just as unknown.

Well done, I would have included that sample too. I would add the contribution of oboist Paul McCandless (from Oregon) in a couple of tracks. Great album.

A few comments for this review... I liked the book. Don't go see the movie, which wrecks the plot and eliminates some key characters for reasons unknown.

Cute, but you have to read all three. A masterpiece by Lansdale: "The Dark Side of the Soul." And then the whole series of Hap and Leonard, of course.

Dearest Il_Paolo, I also believe that your time on debaser has come to an end. So I thank you for the wonderful moments you've given us and wish you a good return to the hyperuranium of fakes from which you come. Please make sure to tell your master not to stop writing on debaser, otherwise he will have to deal with me personally. OK?

Beyond political sympathies, the review seems weak: it consists of 6800 characters, 4000 of which are quotes from the book itself (I imagine, given the quotation marks…). What is the purpose of such an operation? Moreover, while it is necessary to show compassion for the fallen of all conflicts (both ideological and otherwise), compiling a list of deaths completely detached from context is utterly misleading. It oversimplifies: the former GDR was indeed a prison state where practically every citizen was constantly monitored by the secret police, but it was also a place where all citizens had the right to free education and sports activities at all levels. Cuba is a regime that condemns and imprisons homosexuals as enemies of the State, but it is also the nation that produces—the most number of medical graduates free of charge—of all Latin America. In short, everything is much more complex than presented here and needs to be placed in a historical and social context. Otherwise, it is as if one is campaigning for Forza Italia... The same can be said for the text itself: "It is true that Italian fascism often mistreated and imprisoned its political opponents. But it rarely went as far as to kill…". Perhaps it would have been interesting to know what was written before or after this (horrible in itself) sentence. Completely disconnected from context, it sounds to me like: "fascism is a little better than communism because it killed a little fewer victims…". This has understandably triggered the ire of the debaserians.

Well, I appreciate the intention to do "something different" even for a jazz music review. However, perhaps the idea could have been developed better...

Great suggestion, I don't know the album in question, I just know that it's one of Paolo Fresu's favorites, oh dear.

Antonio, when will you write us a nice review of Eivind Aarset? I don’t know Mr. Arve Henriksen, but I’ll look into it. Hello Conte.
