Woody Allen Vicky Cristina Barcelona

I’m a bit disappointed by such a judgment from you. It's not that your numerous reviews on Woody Allen have ever led me to think of a blind and foolish fanaticism that does not allow for any shortcomings from one’s idol, but your opinion limited to this film seems a bit too harsh. To be fair, everything is open to debate, from the voiceover to the acting. However, the "reflection on the boredom of life" seems like a rather misplaced observation, considering the philosophical (Nietzsche foremost, in the vital contrast between Apollonian and Dionysian) and scenic (Barcelona boring??) involvements that shouldn't be underestimated. Personally, I’m waiting to see "Whatever Works" before expressing my views on the actual capability of the director to churn out a film a year, given his career and age, both advanced.

I happily dribbled it. It gave me the impression of being yet another politically charged rant about '68 (What a drag), a topic as overinflated as that of the Shoah.

Just imagine... "If they hadn't come out of icsfactor..." the various pseudo rock Italian groups, from Finley to Darii, that infest the charts thanks to an indefatigable army of eager young girls don't seem to have come out of "icsfactor." There’s finally something better; they are excellent musicians, they’ve recorded an album that, all in all, is convincing and, being young and promising, represent a good outlook for the future. However, since they came out of "icsfactor," it's not okay, oh no... what’s this way of acting called?... wait... darn it... oh yes, Prejudice!!

No Giola, don't mention it. Anyone who corrects my oversight, mistake or inattention is always welcome; the know-it-alls are something else entirely (and there are plenty of them here too). P.S.: One day I will visit Genoa. :))

I discovered Joy Division when I was about 17, I think... so 3 years ago. I'm not sure, those were the years but I’d be talking nonsense if you asked me to specify. Why do you ask?

Well, of course, I had no doubts. Here we go with the endless chain of 1 - 1, and maybe the program has never been seen, perhaps not even the review has been read. A quick peek at the homepage, that "X" that peeks out, so much desire to give a bit of free snobbery. Personally, far from praise, I consider X Factor to be a quality program. It takes courage to propose artists like Nina Simone, Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, Umberto Bindi, David Bowie, Depeche Mode to an audience that is musically ignorant. Or maybe we prefer the kids from Maria with their covers of Beyoncé and Rihanna? There are three qualified judges, Morgan is a musician, Maionchi has worked with Battisti, Dalla, Vanoni, the elite of Italian music, and Mori is the brain behind Celentano. Or perhaps we prefer Platinette and Rapino? There have been high-profile guests, from Houston to De Gregori, good hosting, television moments that are memorable, on the edge of healthy kitsch, extraordinary voices, like them or not. Or perhaps we prefer Marco Carta? The discussion isn’t about the program but the format, which are two distinct and separate things. If the idea that the production process of a pop record is sensationalized annoys some, it is understandable, but the controversy should stop here. Big words are threatened, but one might as well stick to ā€œI hate talent shows.ā€ A few years ago, we were shouting that young Italian talents had no space and to succeed, they could do nothing but fall into the clutches of unscrupulous record producers; now this opportunity exists, but it’s still not good enough. The diehards of "It was better before, though..."

@Telespallabob, The thing is that I've adored many Strega and every year I feel like giving them a chance... "Harry, Reviewed", marked.

Oh, finally...the Strega is not a guarantee of anything, well done. (Except for the note on "L'eleganza del riccio," which I liked).
