Hugo Rodriguez Nicotina - La Vita Senza Filtro
Voto:
More than anything, I thought about a point of contact between "Nicotina" and "Carne tremula" from the perspective of the genre, between thriller and noir, but as you reasonably point out, the results are completely opposite.

One of the best movies ever. That's it.
Ferzan Ozpetek Un Giorno Perfetto

I appreciate the review but not the film. Ozpetek, in my humble opinion, has produced much better than this "Un giorno perfetto," like "Le fate ignoranti" and the more commercial (?) "La finestra di fronte." Valerio Mastandrea seemed a bit unfocused for the role of the crazy villain, while Isabella Ferrari is one of the few positive aspects of the film because she’s excellent, and the supporting characters (Finocchiaro, Grimaudo, Guerritore, Sandrelli) seem to lack a fixed placement. I believe this is the film's weak point: trying to delve into the lives of too many characters within twenty-four hours (something that is difficult in both film and literature) without focusing on the connections between the different stories. Everything is excessively left to chance, and the narrative threads unravel. But the review is nice.

Extraordinary. Discovered through the film "Lo specchio della vita," which I reviewed and, shamefully, did not mention.

Thank you very much, but know that on this site orthodox methods are all the rage...
Sofia Coppola Il giardino delle vergini suicide
Voto:
I like Coppola. To be honest, I don't understand why we label her so bluntly as just another "daddy's girl." If there’s talent, then it’s a good thing. Her debut remains the best among the three films she has directed so far; the only one that might not actually garner wide acclaim is "Lost in Translation," but she’s still a beginner. Great review and an excellent film.
Woody Allen Settembre
Voto:
For those who adore Woody Allen, a statement like "September: Allen redoes Bergman" might seem like a way to diminish the work of the American director. Because the points of connection, as you rightly say, are many; just think of how the same speech by the mother in the mirror is very similar to that of the homosexual Tim in "A World of Puppets," precisely by Bergman, regarding the passage of time. However, in "September" there is something that makes it stand out compared to a simple emulative work. There is a vaguely twilight air, a latent sense of defeat, the intense scent of nostalgia, and furthermore, a great cast for a great author. One could say nothing more: "a true marvel."

It certainly piques curiosity. The first version wasn't bad at all...
