@fede76: I was surprised and pleased that you reviewed the GIAA. If you're not already familiar with it, I recommend "Mr. Beast" by Mogwai, quite different from the post-"buzz" you're referring to ;)

I still have to listen to the latest from GIAA, a band I really appreciate. The "Post-Rock" I prefer, however, is from the '90s. Since Mogwai's "Come On Die Young," many bands of the genre seem to repeat the same track; not that it's a bad thing to draw on the same style with some slight differences, mind you, I still like them a lot and they always have a remarkable emotional impact, the review does a good job describing these compositions. Mono have that touch of "epicness" that puts them on a higher level (for my tastes) compared to Explosions & Co. Among the best recent Post Rock bands, I would mention Sterling.

Great album.

@Federock: I completely agree, in fact, it was a great idea to write it like that. When you go to the store and search for the masterpiece album of Sigur Rós' parentheses, I always recommend pointing out the title to the shopkeeper with gestures ;)

I’m very fond of this band, I started listening to them when Wilson collaborated with them, and I haven’t revisited their earlier works in a long time (except for "Damnation," my favorite Opeth album since Mikael doesn’t scream, even though his growl is the only one I can tolerate). The review made me want to listen to them again; I’ve always found "Watershed" to be a nice album, even though the previous one was far superior.

Very interesting proposal. One small note in the review: the way the album title by Sigur Ros is written makes one think even more of something else.

"Fuck progressive, bitch kicked in the ass by punk fury." "Fuck the blacks from Harlem, but not because they don't pass the ball in basketball, but because they listen to that asshole 50 Cent." What do those ridiculous phrases have to do with anything? I don't know. The album is a masterpiece, Television among the best bands ever.

@geb: you perfectly captured the term "mainstream" that I meant; even the Pink Floyd of the '70s were a mainstream band—music with millions of copies sold, appreciated by the masses—and with this, it simply indicates the musical context. Then, it’s obvious that they are not comparable bands; commonly, that term is associated with low quality, and that’s how unnecessary debates arise :).

@teenage: I completely agree with what you're saying, Radiohead from "Ok Computer" onwards do anything but commercialize themselves and, in my opinion, they create the most interesting things in the early 2000s.

@Teenage: I was just mentioning the context to which these bands belong, they are three different bands that are certainly not entirely comparable to each other, Schiz understood me :). I appreciate everything about Radiohead, they are among my favorite bands and I value them for the genre they represent. Without "The Bends," the other bands wouldn't have existed. My comment was a little jab, as usual, at those who believe that "Ok Computer" is the new Sgt. Peppers and so on... ;)
