maybe the opposite, buy the vinyl and transfer it to CD so you can have the sound of vinyl with the convenience of CD

The point is, for collectors, another: CDs have a lifespan of about twenty years according to industry experts, while vinyl does not, at least not in the short term. It may crackle but you can hear it, CDs cannot.

Pardon... regarding the vinyl-CD debate, I wanted to say that my CD copy from '90 of "discanto" by Fossati is no longer readable by my player, which, by the way, works perfectly, while the original '74 vinyl of "queen II" sounds absolutely wonderful.
