Stoney, the members of Cynic haven't played metal since 1994. The various projects they embarked on after the band's breakup in '94 ranged from prog to jazz fusion, so your argument doesn't hold up. It would also be advisable to get to know something a little better before judging it! Plus, I think identifying Paul Masvidal, Sean Reinert, or Sean Malone as "metalheads" in 2008 is quite excessive.
