So, let's clarify right away that the tyrants go by the names of Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez. The capitalist/western countries have their skeletons in the closet, and when they come out, it will be a mess, but Latin Americans need to wake up from their slumber!!! Their future is mainly in their own hands!!! Continuing with the usual whinings like "we are poor because of the evil Americans, bla bla bla" is completely useless; in fact, it's just a way for local tyrants to prop up their thrones, shifting attention abroad towards the "great American Satan" while continuing to enrich themselves at the expense of their own citizens. I watched Kostuniza's documentary too, and seeing a junkie like Maradona say things like "poor South Americans live in favelas" while he enjoys a nice bath in his lovely pool made me reflect on the typical hypocrisy of human beings. Or when Maradona says things like "I love Fidel Castro, the only true American leader"... and if Latin America were like the USA, the first ones to be happy as clams would be the Latin American citizens themselves, if only they realized it...

They released two more albums after The Painter's Palette, Pain Necessary to Know in 2005 and Through My Dog's Eye in 2008. They changed singers; the new one is called Guillermo Gonzalez and he doesn't do growl. @stoney: give them a listen, you might be interested. Once I was talking to a friend of mine, who doesn’t listen to metal but has a certain knowledge of it, about Ephel Duath, and I said that their sound could be defined as jazz-metal. He started laughing, thinking I was pulling his leg, because in his opinion, jazz could never combine with metal. So I told him to listen to something from that band to get an idea. A few days later, he calls me and says that he didn’t like it, but that the term jazz-metal, in that particular case, could actually fit. All this just to say how we can sometimes be influenced more by how something is defined rather than the thing itself...

I absolutely agree with you, they could have pushed the envelope more, they certainly wouldn't have lacked the technical means... a good listen while we wait for the new album by ATHEIST.

Eddie Van Halen is a monster, as well as the spiritual father of all the guitar heroes of the last 20 years, but Van Halen has never honestly said anything to me.
