I feel like being a pain in the ass (eh-eh), the Mercalli scale is empirical in an experiential sense, or, if you prefer, it smells like a geriatric ward (it has a "degradation" that goes something like this: "When the roosters crow cock-a-doodle-doo in broad daylight, somewhere a slight earthquake farts"), and anyhow, its supposed arithmetic pushes up to a pretentious maximum of 20°, perhaps with a possibility of appeal and retesting...(but at 20° the world ends and Atlantis rises).

Damn, the good Frank Turner live, back in the days of Million Dead, always had on the (same?!) t-shirt of the anarcho band from across the sea, yet as a lyricist he was much more subtle, and also more situationalist, so: "Thus immersed in our barbarous longing!!!"... I like it just because I consider it the perfect epitome of "Il Sole" by Sokurov (and it has nothing to do with it, but maybe it does...; ).

Sniff, sniff... Chino Moreno appearing in the trashy video of "Saga," them supporting Deftones at the concert in February '98 in Milan, an immense band, unjustifiably forgotten... they were doing things that Meshuggah only started experiencing a few years later... CARPE DIEM!!!

To all lovers of trash (or coprophiles), there remains the repugnant series (in every sense) of "Mondo cane."

So to all the "non acCANIti cinofili" (nice one, Alessio ;) I recommend tracking down the pseudodocumentary "Tierische Liebe" (or "Animal Love"), 1995, by Ulrich Seidl, eh-eh.

Hey, it doesn't take a genius to figure it out... with that nickname, I bet it's track number 4, but I'm not saying the title, cavalluccciolaborioso, eh-eh... ; )

Just one note, Messiaen could have been thrown in by his hair (not that he had many left in his later years, but they were still graspable ;), for the rest, it is read as a pleasure, and its length is a given.

I admit my ignorance regarding the Irish scene (aside from that genius Quetzalcoatl, who seems to have little in common with this, nationality excluded), but the continuous return of Boards of Canada does not exemplify the approach for me (from the Scottish duo, I only appreciate their earlier works, characterized by an use of breaks and hip-hop-inspired syncopation, to put it simply, while their more recent productions bore me a bit). However, the review is easy to read.
