Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Don Giovanni

For me, and I speak as an ignorant person on a "conservationist" level, it’s half a joke. I’ve gone through all the semiological/philophical Kierkegaardian musings about it, and I’ve experienced it live too many times to give it a credible polysemic/harmonic significance to the act (only certain contemporary and extremist "choreographies" granted it a bit of shine, but that was only synecdotal). I bow to Wolfango on my knees only in the presence of "Die Zauberflöte"; to think that "Fidelio," by Ludovico Van, is considered a casualist and minor work, unconditionally supports my THESIS; )
Converge Axe to Fall

Well, look Sorcio, just to find some common ground between the two releases; for me, the elongated tail with the folksy/doom atmospheres featuring Von Till's vocals in the final diptych of "Axe to Fall" is what convinces me the least. In contrast, the same type of atmospheres, used as brief instrumental interludes to temper the monolithic nature of the sonic assault in "Ox," seems like a much more fitting device.
Converge Axe to Fall

This album is a bit of a pain in the ass for me... But for a rather trivial reason: it practically came out last year two or three weeks after the Coalesce album, which marked their return after 10 years with a bone-crushing record. However, since Converge are Converge, "Ox" was just slipped out that twenty days ; )
Underworld Barking

Yes, the rhythmic pattern of Drum&Bass is blasted in the previous "Scribble," even if it's dressed up in a "polite" style seasoning the usual salad of melodic synths... ; )

Wow, I didn’t think they would be so "charming" here on DeBaser... I admit I’ve never really taken to them, but I recognized their skill, which is anything but obvious, of changing the game from album to album... at least, until this work. Come on, they no longer surprise, and their formula has become so recognizable (which may not be a bad thing), yet predictable (and that, in their case, is definitely not a good thing), a sort of crossover between "They Were Wrong, So We Drowned," but less caustic, and "Drum'S Not Dead," but less kraut.
Pelican City Of Echoes

However, I've never quite understood the judgment parameters on Pelican: this is the album that critics almost unanimously define as the most "boring" and "overcooked," yet it presents a richness of ideas like never before (I'm not here to argue whether those ideas were fully realized); while everyone agrees that they made a splash right away with "Australasia," and I'm totally fine with that, but that's an album that tirelessly churns out the same 3/4 riffs... and I'm not at all sure I would have liked to hear such a formula (not really that perfectible) repeated "word for word" (or "para para/cula" ;) in the subsequent releases (3.5).

"Jerusalem," on the other hand, can also be thrown in the trash, can't it?! ; )
Male Bonding Nothing Hurts
Voto:
Well, come on, at least they have the originality of being aware and explicit Indie-Gay youths, without being those silly ambiguous and androgynous types (like eels up the backside ; ) Ah, and their songs are a bit more "song-like" than those of No Age(3.5).

Mmmmmh, I first encountered the "disco della vita" when I was around 14. Then the second time at 14 and a half, and so on, every six months. However, each time it was a different record and a different discourse. Now, as an old man, wise and aware of being unfaithful, I couldn't care less about the "dischi della vita"; I enjoy myself like a hedgehog with those of the week, when I'm lucky with those of the day, and when I'm really lucky with the last-minute ones ; )

Hey, I didn't say I treat all grass the same?! Anyway, I have my preferences, so I still happily listen to "Ágætis Byrjun" and "Takk..." even today, occasionally dusting off "Von" as well; the problems arise only with the "2 Parentheses Round," which I struggle to last more than 20 minutes, and I skip with insistent nonchalance "E-Bow" and "Popplagið," while on the "Titillare di Campanule Celestiali nel Deretano," whatever it's called, I gladly pass over it. ;)
