When they gifted it to me for my birthday, I thought it was a joke; I even believed they had mistakenly put a “serious CD” inside the wrong case, given that it was free of cellophane... nothing of the sort... it was supposed to be a “serious gift,” like the blooming of an enmity. The only thing these guys got right is the single (but only because, for the first time, one of their radio tracks manages to play without causing me gastrointestinal distress); the rest wants to have pretensions... and they are a band that can’t afford them; one in particular: the abundant 8 minutes of the track that is supposed to sound noise-like, and is just flatulent. Fortunately, even without packaging, I managed to get it swapped for "Receivers" by "Parts & Labor," which, coincidentally, turns out to be a little gem of pure (slightly) noisy Pop!

Well, it’s not one of my favorite film types, but I have to admit it has its merits, even in terms of shooting choices... and it’s watchable without too many pretensions, unlike the glacial rigor of the lower parts of an Inarritu, which can freeze you to the point where, if the festival of misfortune didn’t really hit everyone... in the end, you’d want to commit a massacre yourself (having already lost your balls). Too bad for the final remark; in terms of reviews, "Carne Tremula" doesn’t seem very fitting to me... perhaps only the "What did I do to deserve this?" from Almodovar bears some resemblance to the aforementioned...

Hey, Bartle, I never said your proposals have the same effect on me as a plate of fried cow dung!!! Mostly, you review bands I've never even listened to... as for Hypnos 69, I didn't find them atrocious at all (in fact, in certain situations, I gladly enjoy them)... it just seems to me that they are damn proud of being Seventies bands fallen into the wrong era (I took the plummet because I remembered your review, and recalling the artwork of the cover, when I found the C.D. in my hands, I bought it sight unseen without downloading it first ; ).

Uh-Oh, but tell the truth Bartle, you have some topological fixations regarding musical and cinematic productions... and right now you’re in a Scandinavian phase when it comes to audio insights, am I right!? It doesn’t have much to do with the current proposal, but what do you think about the debut of the "Pilgrim Fathers" ("Short Circular Walks in the Hope Valley"... Ehm, they are English, though)?! It seems like material that might interest you, anyway!... Ciau.

Damn... to me they are a carbon copy of Neurosis... there are plenty of post-core derivatives out there, and personally, I don't even mind that... but I've never heard anything so similar to the "prime movers," the only thing missing is the tribal-percussive component typical of the Oakland band... but to imitate even the raspy tone of Von Till in this way... it annoys me quite a bit!

As for the annualistic meanings pro genere, the latest AmenRa ("Mass IIII") is the best of 2008 for me... while (in reference to Festwca's considerations), if we want to consider post-core as an "open" genre, there's also "Elixirs" by Guapo which is really terrifying ("Jewlwed Turtle" at the beginning sounds like Rimsky-Korsakov in an avant-rock key).

Yes, it's awesome, here they have some inserts that could teach a lot of useless bands these days what the hell it means to be neo-folk (with all the multiple implications that this should entail, of course)!

Here, you're right... "official fun club of Mr. Pelù"... Mr. Piero can be at his best "funny"... if you take him seriously, it's stomachache time!

Well, when it comes to joking around about Portishead, am I the only one who finds them pretty ironic too?! I mean, for example, in the much-maligned "Machine Gun," after over 4 minutes of almost Pan(a)sonic clattering, that synth melody kicks in and you go, "Damn, I know this..." ...but the track is already over before you can exclaim "... it's exactly like the opening theme of Terminator 2!!!"... ; ).

Hahahahaha... "Do you know a heavy record?"... Yes, more than one (Oh God, you can't mean intrinsically soporific, can you?!)... "Well, make it even heavier than it already is and you'll get something similar to Lost In The Sound Of Separation."... Mmmh, read the two reviews (here present) on Knut... and, if you want, listen to them... Underoath heavy?!... But where??!... Pleasant, if anything, like the review (intro aside)!
