To exaggerate, it should first start to "experiment," then it can also stray from the mark due to excess or deficiency, but in the review, I don't see explanations regarding the "what" it would be experimenting... always, in fact, whether it has ever done so... For me, we aren't even at "zero degree" (I apologize to the late Barthes for having misused one of his terminological meanings).

Uh-oh, but the strip tease wasn't allowed by the Jappi???!!!

There's nothing wrong, eh!!! After all, metalgonzi and fraticelli were shaped from the same dough... the kind that will never be starched in the vagina and is destined, at best, for multiple and promiscuous encounters in a cell ; ).

..."among other things, the first para-prog piece by the Verve" but, fear not you early fans, it remains yet another one of their para-ass...

Uh-Oh the visuals of SPK, contemporary and from "Fuori Orario," were much more formidable for the hypothetical collective imaginary; however, Steven has always inspired in me a basic "sympathy," in a psychoanalytic sense: clever little guy, but not at his best here... A historiography more suited to the implications of "post" industrial is certainly welcome!!!

I almost like it, but I'm certainly not one of their early admirers, quite the opposite! I don't find it arid at all as an album; it's one of the most varied ("The Black Light" is too monotonous and addicted to hardly varied sounds, for my tastes). The cover seemed quite intimidating to me, but more than an album that wants to evoke the essence of a journey, it looks like a collection of postcards with brief impressions scattered here and there, and considering that the usual itineraries are highly predictable, it seems much less pretentious to me: better that way! If this is the path they've decided to take (and less to contemplate), from "Garden Ruin" onwards, they might even become likable to me!

Really?! It sounds just like Verdena's epiphany after someone casually mentioned Marcel Duchamp... ; ).

I think you're compartmentalizing too much with the gender nuances... the Today Is the Day have very little in common with Melt Banana... rather, they're more similar to Zeni Geva.

"Cell-Scape" is somewhat the turning point album, and it stands on its own: no lo-fi, electronic inserts, and longer, more structured tracks. I had this on record-tape back in the day: KK Null + Albini should be a good trademark, but, perhaps influenced by the medium, I remember the drumming being rather dull (while Yasuko O and, above all, Agata are already shining with personality and ease): 3.5.
Sonic Youth Bolzano/Bozen 11.10.08

It also depends on how the individual approaches such events. I have never been a warm admirer of the Sonic Youth; they are appreciated more for the visibility they have given to a certain type of sonic approach (but there are others who have managed to develop it with full awareness, in my opinion). I first saw their live act around the time of "A Thousand Leaves," and they already gave me the impression of being excellent craftsmen, indeed passionate about the matter, but still accustomed to a "formula" that was now widely tested. Their last "live" for me was the one in Ferrara last year, and they just couldn't shake off that primordial impression (after all, "Daydream Nation" is certainly not my favorite album of theirs... "Sister" is much better, and "Evol" is two steps above all!).
