Come on! They were something serious, rather of a transcendental concreteness. But then they made it to the 90s and beyond, with the epigones distancing themselves (with gratitude) here and there, and the reason for that "Joke" has mercilessly emerged in a series of "ridiculous" publications.

Considering that I have neither a multideck in my car nor at home, changing CDs on the fly when everything could fit on a single medium seems like a waste (good for vinyl format, sure, but this way I end up keeping them in compressed format ;).

Certainly more enjoyable than the first piece of the so-called trilogy ("Preteen Weaponry"), in the end, you can just skip the third disc and everything becomes just the right amount of enjoyable (to be honest, "Folk Wisdom" wouldn't be entirely throwaway if, during the crescendo, the drums didn't start sounding "boxed in" like certain lo-fi productions from the Eighties, and if it didn't come across as blatantly contrived). It also annoys me that, given the lean times, they continue to make double albums when one would suffice, and even triple albums when the timing would justify a double. As for "cross-disciplinary" instrumental bands, I still prefer entities like Pivot or Lite, which have even less of that freak-artsy odor of the Brooklynites (3.5).

Brävo & Bëlo. "Some Cities" sounded too intimate and simultaneously listless. However, if it led them to polish their darker, groovy yet airy sounds, as in this case, such moments of reflection are welcome.
