@ Bartleboom: thanks for your first post, otherwise I wouldn't have gone to read another review about this movie. Castaldo's really makes you double up with laughter!

@ Ghemison: it was precisely on "style" that I wanted to focus, not on the themes. The rendering of Casshern is superior for me precisely because Kiriya finds a way to perfectly fuse the element of real film with the type of animated cinema, charging not only the action scenes with effects but continuously blending them throughout the duration of the film and using the trick of differentiated chromatisms mentioned by Bartleboom to distinguish the various "moods" of the "film." Moreover, if it's true that "Casshern" has much less action than one might expect, it is nonetheless rendered spectacular because, instead of resorting to Bullet Time (a technically expensive method that, personally, I find tiresome), it accentuates the kinetic nature by presenting it at speeds 3 or 4 times faster than normal (and coincidentally, this makes it much smoother, enhances its excitement, and paradoxically increases its realism). That said, I actually wanted to promote this film a bit ;)

Ah, Kazuaki Kiriya with "Casshern" (film adaptation of the anime "Kyashan", also available in Italian) gives a little lesson in the use of computer graphics to Snyder and company... the cost of the work is 300 times lower... overall result 300 times better!

Hey, Mr. SpappolaBanane... the other day the Twisted Sister... now "300"... could it be that you have a soft spot for anyone with the surname Snider/Snyder?!.. ;)
