"It took me straight back to Final Fantasy 7 and the first dates between Cloud and Tifa: those who played it know what I'm talking about"....just for this, you deserve a 5 :D.....I'm quite interested in the record, I'll do some research and let you know as soon as possible ;)

PS: [small clarification], you could also include gothic among the genres since I think it closely matches the sounds of "Skyforger"... besides that, nice page ;)

I'm glad to read this nice review of "Skyforger" here on deb, well done Fede great job. As for the album, it's very beautiful. They have taken up the more melancholic and melodic sounds of "Silent Waters" and channeled them into a music more focused on gothic, "paraphrasing" their enchanting and grandiloquent style. The concept based on the Finnish national poem “Kalevala” is also interesting, encapsulating hundreds of years of history and Nordic mythology, touching on many topics from love to philosophy. In short, a welcome return for Amorphis, who, after The Gathering, have managed to offer beautiful music again. ;)

"imagination from the other side" was a great album; Blind, as you say Stoney, drew more from literature and were skilled composers. Rhapsody are ridiculous and gaudy with lyrics that are nothing short of irritating, and compositionally they have many shortcomings and lack ideas—just solos for their own sake and some random quirky keyboards thrown in haphazardly!.... Just listen to that horror of "Lamento Eroico."
