Dear iside, first of all I am a... and second, what's wrong with Ummagumma? For me, it's just another Pink Floyd album, nothing special, but I chose it as a nickname because I like the name... it's cute! :D

Let's not beat around the bush: the references to Barrett are definitely there, not only in the line from "Nobody Home"! The whole album, and consequently the film, revolve around the figure of Pink, who is nothing more than a blend of Waters’ and Barrett’s personalities (mostly Barrett), even if Waters never officially confirmed it because he didn’t want critics to keep labeling him as a "surrogate" for Syd. But come on, even before seeing the film, just by listening to the album, you can realize it! Good God! "Wish you Were Here" is not a love song!!! It’s for Syd! "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" is for Syd! Pink with shaved eyebrows is a clear reference to Barrett! The drug-addicted rock star, consumed by drugs, reduced to being an empty shell—doesn't that remind you of Syd Barrett?? No? Seriously? Everyone keeps talking about PF this, PF that, and we don’t even know that "Wish You Were Here" is a song dedicated to Barrett?

For the review, 4 for the effort... 2 in grammar... oh my, so many mistakes... maybe review your pronouns a bit, my son, and while you’re at it, the verbs too! Anyway, the description was very accurate and faithful, well done, although you could have spared us some personal comments that make it long and boring... as for the film, I have nothing to say. I am a devoted Floydian and I like it despite the presence of various flaws that I won’t repeat here.

The review is really nice, but I don’t totally agree… I mean, the comment on Comfortably Numb doesn’t work... where do you want to put the psychedelia? For God's sake, I think it’s just fine like this… The film helped me understand the album better (my favorite by PF, ed.) and even though "Hey You" is missing (sacrilege!!!) and there are other flaws, it remains a really great film, thanks to the animated parts which are simply S-P-E-C-T-A-C-U-L-A-R and especially because it’s accompanied by wonderful music. I liked the actor; he managed to convey so much to me even though he hardly spoke at all.
Maybe from a cinematographic point of view (excluding the animated parts) it's not a great masterpiece, but seen through the eyes of a Floydian, well, there's no denying it: chapeau. It communicates a lot.
Anyway, the scene with the schoolkids in the meat grinder is genius: a bit of exaggeration is acceptable. After all, it's not a documentary... it’s music, it’s cinema, it’s art. If Waters imagined it like this, why criticize?
