Too kind everyone, thank you! @Ole: I think you might like his early albums. @Flin: your clarifications are, as always, greatly appreciated, thank you! @Grant: he has never been a character widely publicized by the media or even by the specialized press, so even the news of his death received little attention, despite being fairly close to the release of this album which had good commercial success. It makes one think that more than the media, it’s his colleagues and friends who remember and mention him often even today, Bragg, Bono Vox, Byrne, etc., a sign of human depth in my view. @SadEyed: if you like Latin American influences, this is an album you'll enjoy; the rest of his career is rather dedicated to folk, although at the beginning it tended more towards punk-folk. It's worth spending some time on, in my opinion. @Male: will you join me? ;-) @Emanuele: Thank you! @Sylvian: female singer-songwriters, especially in English, are definitely among my favorite genres. Speaking of Billy, here on DeB there are some reviews; I recommend this one: Must I Paint You a Picture? - Billy Bragg - Recensione di northernsky

The plot of this film is very clear, and anyway a film doesn’t need a comprehensible plot to be a masterpiece; in this case, it’s not like that because it is a masterpiece and it is also very understandable.

The last 5 lines are very illustrative of what Radiohead is at this moment from a media perspective rather than a musical one (and I say this without any polemical intent since I like them...), I'm just now approaching "In Rainbows" and after one and a half listens, honestly, I don't know what to say except that perhaps I was expecting something a little different, but it's still early to commit myself further.

Ah.. I had missed your last ironic sentence, to which I think I replied but I would like to add that there is some Underground that is much more commercial (in the sense I explained) than certainly Pop. Best regards.

@Andre86: No, Popolare means suitable for the People and Commercial means suitable for Commerce; it’s not necessarily the case that these two always align, even if (in these tough times) they often do for the sake of charity. In the case of these "artists," it may be true, but I know many where your reasoning doesn’t hold up, and I refer you to my reviews of Athlete or Sneaker Pimps, for example (and it's not for self-promotion, mind you..) or to the latest works by Amos. In all these albums, there is an approach to that simplicity needed to be understood by everyone (in the "Pop" sense of the term), but I don't see particularly aggressive commercial intentions (even though it's worth noting that every album is born to be sold, in terms of product) or at least not in the mass sense that you attribute to the term. I hope I’ve answered you exhaustively.

Ghemison pop music, in itself, is music born and made to sell as much as possible and to be as commercial as possible...
I'm sorry, but I can't agree with this statement. Pop derives from "popolare," which doesn't mean commercial by default. It's true that Pop sells better than Classical music, but from my point of view, in the case of these "artists," we are not dealing with Pop (with an uppercase P not by chance) but with record-label pornography... I still give a 5 for the Trans Rosso...
