In my opinion, as usual, the truth lies somewhere in the middle... Dream Theater isn’t this incredible band that their fans want to believe, but they’re also not a total joke as their detractors claim. Technically, they are a great band with a limited expressive fantasy that has basically run out of ideas since “Images and Words,” but in their other albums, they’ve always managed to include a couple of good tracks (up until “Train of Thought” at least). This one is no exception; it’s a decent little disc that, if nothing else, doesn’t bore you like other, far more hyped, productions from their catalog.
