@Blackdog: Oh my God, the Germano is underrated, not well-known I would say, but the two things can very well be in contradiction, the Germano is for the few (and not for an exclusivist mindset but for vocation) the others mentioned are definitely more accessible (but not so much, otherwise certain comparisons seen among the various comments wouldn't make sense) but this is not necessarily a flaw, indeed, never confuse popularity with what is commercial by nature, it's a mistake that often recurs, don't you agree?

Blckdog, tastes, and yours hardly ever coincide with mine but I love you nonetheless. The difference between you and me is that I don't think in absolutes; I don't know what is bigger or not. I know what I like—Germano a lot, Amos even more. I leave absolute truths to others, and this allows me to live happily. Bye!

There is a bit of superficiality in associating certain names (if terms like "crybaby" are used to refer to a certain way of conceiving singer-songwriter music, it means we're really off track...), the experience of female singer-songwriters in the '90s at its highest peaks (Amos, Harvey, Apple, Mann, Germano, Phair) was particularly unique because all these artists created something truly distinctive and indefinable in their individual styles (of course, if you look for derivative references, they can be found; nothing is created, nothing is destroyed, but citing and reworking are two different things, and they did the latter in a highly personal way), and especially very detached from the typical canons of a female singer-songwriter who seeks to mimic the male world. Perhaps there is a bit of misinformation regarding this universe, and it's really a shame because the risk is falling into commonplaces, such as confusing the words "intimism" (I know it's a painting movement, please forgive the term..) with "crybaby" (is that even a word?). All this without any polemic, but just for the sake of precision.

Neu! Neu!, first you say you don't care about criticism and now you boast of having it on your side, I'll tell you, I wouldn't go around bragging too much about it...

If you have it, yeah.. @Portland: I don't think the reviewer meant what you're saying...

It would be a 5, but I'll give you one point less because the album hasn't come out yet and as a romantic (or stupid, you choose) I still have to listen to it. Actually, no, come on, I'll give you a 5 and screw consistency.

But if since your appearance on DeB you haven't done anything but quote it, should I copy and paste your comments here, and then give the links to Scaruffi's pages, what do you think? Honestly, I have nothing against you, but if you take a closer look at DeB you'll see that you're not the only one with these characteristics (and always the same little phrases from a know-it-all) and to be honest, I'm also tired of answering you with arguments; go read the 2,000-plus comments from cptgaio and you'll understand my positions. As for the rest, it doesn't seem that you want to seek a debate because I see you too entrenched in your opinions. You don’t like Maiden, fine, that's never been a problem, but it's one thing not to like them, and another to just spout clichés continuously without any direct knowledge of the facts, but only hearsay (or reading) as you do. I don't have to prove anything to you; my opinions are written and visible to everyone here. I repeat, it's you who still has to prove something by presenting a shred of argumentation that isn't already stated by others, and maybe in tones that are not offensive towards other people's opinions, as is your habit. Aloha.

Neu's post speaks for itself in terms of Scaruffian banality and vulgarity (those are indeed his own). Therefore, I don't think there's a need to comment, and I'll listen to my friend Fabrizio.
P.S.: Yes, cptgaio is dead; I resurrected him by mistake...
