Bruce Springsteen The River
Voto:
Lariana, you always make excellent comments. I almost always agree with you. Who is hiding behind your nickname, Dario Salvatori?
Bruce Springsteen Born In The U.S.A.
Voto:
Boring record, turning towards easy listening. I’ve never found much genius in Springsteen, I don’t know why, even in his best albums. If you want to get a truly great record of American music from our times, buy "Glitter in the Gutter" by Jesse Malin.
Verdena, Fire Trails, Malfunk Live @ Southern Rock Festival, Catanzaro Lido, 06.08.07
Voto:
In my opinion, the Verdena are one of the few good things in the current dismal Italian landscape. They are talented and great live. Requiem is a beautiful album. Perhaps the lyrics are a bit indecipherable. Moreover, I don't think someone like Mauro Pagani, founder of P.F.M. and co-author of (probably) the most beautiful Italian album ever (Creuza de ma by De André), would lend his collaboration to incompetent people.
Van Halen OU812
Voto:
In my opinion, it's a truly terrible album. The good albums by Van Halen are I, II, 1984, and For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge.
Oasis Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants
Voto:
I tried to relisten to the album. It's actually not that bad. It's not comparable to the first two or the last one, but it's listenable. Noel rightly called "be here now" tired, I got confused. Anyway, it's not a memorable album in my opinion.
Wham! Fantastic
Voto:
Fantastic is the classic example of "authorial plastic."
The Waterboys The Waterboys
Voto:
Buy all the albums by the Waterboys, even the latest one. Money well spent. Music with a soul.
Marco Masini T'innamorerai
Voto:
You Will Fall in Love was a good Italian song. I would avoid the rest, even though Masini still has an expressive voice.
Counting Crows August And Everything After
Voto:
In my opinion, Counting Crows are to REM what Prodi is to Berlusconi.
Niccolò Fabi Novo Mesto
Voto:
Le Vibrazioni are good. I saw them at Cascina Monluè in Milan. They make a mistake because they don't identify with a genre. They do a bit of everything. Moreover, the bassist (always wanting to stand out) ruins their image. They won't make many more albums because they want to play rock music but have a pretentious image. On the other hand, Afterhours have a rock image in addition to making music of a certain level, so they will last.
