Enrico Ruggeri Gli occhi del musicista
Voto:
Well, I didn't say he's naive. It's clear that, for example, "Mistero" was composed with a certain degree of calculation. He knew very well that Mistero wasn't much ( Si può dare di più isn't one of his songs but was only interpreted to help relaunch Tozzi) but he needed popular consensus, a lower level, to make money and then afford to do what he really liked. He could have managed his career better, made fewer records, done fewer concerts, made himself awaited as already mentioned. If someone does 300 concerts a year, they expose themselves too much and lead to nausea. But I think he just wanted to enjoy himself.

You're right. He made too many albums. He should have made fewer and better quality ones, been more selective. I have the impression that Ruggeri wanted to have fun above all (albums, tours, many let's say "fans", basically a lived life) and then think about his career. He didn't manage his career in the best way. It's a way of understanding life that is, among other things, commendable. He's great especially for this. I've met him several times at various concerts (his, Stranglers, Costello, Mirò his partner) and he's really a pleasant person. You can tell he's a life enthusiast. However, being passionate about life often intoxicates rationality and calculation.

You're right about the temporal references. I meant to say that, unfortunately, to become a successful singer-songwriter, you need to have the face of a singer-songwriter. Just like in any profession. To be a lawyer, you need to have the face of a lawyer; to be a butcher, it's important to have the face of a butcher. Ruggeri doesn't have the face of a sober and reflective singer-songwriter but rather that of a bon vivant.

To be honest, I’ve only heard the first single from the latest album (I must say that it was enough for me and that, at least this track, doesn’t seem easily digestible). The Bends and Pablo Honey were wonderful albums, pop enough, very heartfelt and a little heady. In any case, I respect those who think differently and I believe that the review is well done even though I don’t feel I can rate it since I don’t like judging others' thoughts. However, to claim that the latest Radiohead albums are easily assimilable seems a bit questionable to me.

Good job, Jackas. Damn, for me that's how you want to do it. Music must come primarily from the heart, not from the head. Personally, I can't stand them.

Great Huey, but Sports was better... A character.

I found them brilliant up to Ok Computer (especially P.H. and T.B.), then they became boring, pretentious, and unnecessarily snobbish.
Carmen Consoli Confusa e felice
Voto:
Confused and happy and not tired at all, two big pieces. Moreover, in the album title, I often identify myself.

Tremendous
Franco Battiato Ferro Battuto

Heavy as a boulder. Battiato has done much better even in recent times (Dieci Stratagemmi).
