I'm reading around some rather negative comments about this album. I don't know, I actually find it beautiful, dynamic, and powerful. A great return from a band I've always appreciated. As you say in the review, and as Algol mentions above, they had the intelligence not to want to make a photocopy of "Relationship of Command," but instead aimed to create an album that says, "this is us now, we're back and we still have so much to say." You know, Grant, you always write very beautiful reviews :)

As always, great review :) I'm really enjoying the album, much more so than the flat and disappointing "MBV" from our friends My Bloody Valentine. Let's say it's a nice comeback for the band after 22 years of absence.

Well-written and definitely interesting review. In my opinion, the album is excellent, convincing and not disappointing at all. It has that "fogginess" and elegance that only Lanegan can provide. I'm really enjoying it a lot, just like the two previous ones (especially Blues Funeral, which I loved).

Perhaps the worst album of the year. A hodgepodge of genres randomly blended by a band more arrogant than Oasis. We’re not having it.

Beautiful album, it surprised me. At times, you can hear the technique and elegance of James Blake, and at times the unmistakable style of Frank Ocean. Truly stunning. The review is very nice too :)

Boredom. A Gorillaz album without the Gorillaz. Twenty tracks and at least ten fillers, so many pointless "interludes" and not a single track that made me say wow.

Hi! It's always nice to read your reviews! Of course, I'm not familiar with this suggestion of yours, but I will definitely give the album a listen, it sounds interesting :)

Album of the year. Huge, stunning, thrilling. Bannon a sacred monster, and you are pretty good too :)

Great review! I'm really curious to listen to it, even though the two previous ones were quite dreadful. It's being talked about positively, and since you think so too, I’d say I’ll give it a chance :)
