Beautiful review, comprehensive and clear, even though the album being described is not easy. I don't understand why Baustelle are always so disparaged, but to be honest, I care very little about it. If I may share my opinion, I've always liked the band, and this new album, long, challenging, heavy, I like quite a lot. (As for them being leftist, radical chic, condescending, clueless, and pretentious, I’ll leave that to you to say).

Thank you for the comments. I agree a bit with everyone, in the sense that they are hipster, it's a scam... but the disc in question sounds good, it brightens up these gray days. Of course, it's not a masterpiece, that's for sure. Cheers!

I'm glad you brought this oft-overlooked album back into the spotlight, regarded as a style exercise lacking in flair. It’s true, The King Of Limbs takes time to sink under your skin, to reveal its beauty. But if Radiohead intends to release more "complicated" works like this album, then bring it on. I enjoyed it, and quite a lot too.

Masterpiece album, recently discovered. "Tugboat" is one of the most beautiful and melancholy tracks I have ever listened to, something that goes beyond music and touches the deepest chords of the soul.

Damnably late, but thankfully still in time to not regret missing out on such a great track. Simply stunning, very forward-thinking despite its '70s style. Really really nice.

Excellent album, especially because the shoegaze and new wave influence is heavily felt. After White Pony, the best of Deftones, deeply felt, inspired, and incredibly moving.

No, it can't be true... I don't believe it. Three little balls?? Three out of five?? No, it must be a joke!

I'm arriving quite late, but I really like this band now. A cohesive, exciting album with no dips in style. Among the myriad of "dream-pop," "shoegaze," "post-whatever" bands, I find that these DIIV are the best to emerge in 2012.

In fact, to make it up to you, now that I’ve read everything calmly, I’ll even raise your grade!

So all these labels like "witch-house," "glitch," "trance-hop," "dark" give me chills. What do they even mean? Can’t we just say that Crystal Castles make electronic music?? Maybe it’s just me being old-fashioned, who knows?!
Anyway, I’ve liked them since their first album, and this is their best. I’ve been listening to it for days and I think it’s wonderful (two things I liked: the disappearance of those Nintendo-like sounds that got old after a while and those incoherent screams from Alice). A mention also for the cover, a touching photo of a Yemeni mother holding her son who was affected by tear gas during the protests of last year’s so-called "Arab Spring."
