Alter Bridge Blackbird

The sound of this band is of absolute explosiveness; I think of the insane Ties that Bind or Metalingus, they're dark, brooding, with captivating melodic openings in the choruses that leave you speechless. Recently, I haven't heard other groups that possess this power (if you know any, please send the links :-) The only weak point of this album, in my opinion, is sadly the lyrics, too repetitive, except for a couple of cases like the title track, and focused on the theme of man's defeat/rebirth. A bit rhetorical at times, from this point of view, the album hasn't fully convinced me.

I have always wondered, how exactly is "We chase misprinted lies" translated? (or if you prefer, the meaning of this phrase)

The beautiful shimmering guitar of Rhinocerous. I agree about Chamberlain's rolls, they are like a machine gun.

You’re right, we’ve crossed the line.
But what happened to Kim Thayl (who is a legend just for looking like Bud Spencer)?
Is he still grinding out riffs somewhere?

Indeed, artistic decline is understandable and acceptable, especially after more than 15 years. Much less acceptable is the commercial sellout in an attempt to stay relevant. So far, Vedder still seems sober from this perspective; then again, who knows, maybe tomorrow we'll see Pearl Jam featuring Beyoncé featuring P. Diddy...

I wouldn't know... I don't think it's a joke, let's say (I say) it's a 6 out of 10. Doing a rough and quick calculation, I'd say that, on average, the artistic life of a band burns out in about 4 albums. (or less? :-)
