I don't like this Burzum. The reasons I believe are mainly due to Mr. Varg's voice, which I find unbearable, or at least not at all tolerable to my ear. My problem?

Just look at the first four studio albums; they're great... in my opinion. I don't know about this one, but I hope it's better than the two horrendous previous works.

The song mentioned at the beginning of the review is one of their best for me... :D they've done worse, Truman!

Splinter, don’t take it the wrong way when I say this, but you suffer from "fanboy syndrome," which I consider a degrading and pathetic condition that leads the subject in question (and unfortunately, you seem to confirm my words) to claim that X or Y has only made great albums even if that person has done some crap. And so, you end up elevating "great albums" like "Octavarium" or "Train Of Thought" (placing them on the same level as their truly redeemable works, as I see it, like this one or "Awake" or "When Dream And Day Unite"), or even the latest one, from which I only needed the first song (passed on to me by a friend), empty, repetitive, a poor imitation of beautiful songs they previously made. Sure, there are definitely bands or artists who have never stooped to low levels in my opinion, but they aren't called Dream Theater. But don’t worry Splinter, the day will come when you will stop mythologizing them...

In the oblivion? Personally, I don't know; rather, it would be better to say that it hasn't had the space it deserved.
