Baustelle La moda del lento

But how can you hate Bianconi? Anyway, the weakest album by Baustelle, but still beautiful. There isn't a bad song, and some tracks make me want to cry...

(edit: Bathory knew how to do black metal when they mixed it with folk or viking elements in the '90s... the early days are too immature in my opinion)

Beautiful CD. The review doesn't compare.

If black metal is philosophy, I would say to leave it to those who know how to do it. Dimmu did it well up to a certain point, Bathory too (Quorthon... we miss you). And even Satyricon, although I don't like them, have done something not as bad compared to other bands that I can't digest. But the first and the third bands I mentioned have been just two exception in my view in Norwegian black metal. Personally, I prefer death metal (done well), or thrash, or heavy (oh, I discovered hot water)...

Then consider that I had someone in my school who constantly raved (and who idolized Mayhem, and I don't even know if he still does) saying "I was out burning churches last night"... typical attitude of Mayhem in the '90s.

@Galakordi: I must say that I didn’t quite understand the question regarding the physical aspect. Mentioning Mayhem was a sort of revenge against the journalists who accused Marilyn Manson of being a bad example, when Mr. Warner hasn’t done anything particularly wrong, unlike Mayhem, who only thought about killing each other (generally, that’s something unrelated to music, but since Mayhem bores me... this time, the quality of the music and behavior coincide :/). I'm not saying that everyone who likes Mayhem are automatically idiots, just to be clear...

@Rooftrampler: If anything, Manson is (or was?) a narcissist... (I quote the second part of that statement made when he still seemed to be friends with LaVey: "Satanism is the worship of ourselves, responsible for our good and our evil") "I don't know where you heard that, because Manson is still a supporter of LaVey." Well, to me it still seems the opposite. On Wikipedia (and not only, prove that it's not bullshit) I read: "Brian later stated that the meeting with LaVey was not a very significant event in his life, and in fact, he was very disappointed by it." @47: I don’t even like Burzum... at this point, I prefer Satyricon (who I don’t like but I consider superior to other black bands...).

Always for Rooftrampler: I can feel Bowie's touch in the contained glamour of the work, in my opinion.

@Rooftrampler92: forgive me, but I think this is the only time (or one of the few times) we don’t get along. I’ll analyze the following points: “Do you know that Manson is a reverend of La Vey's satanic church?” If anything, La Vey wanted to give him the title of Reverend. But he refused, later stating that that meeting didn’t really satisfy him in any way. “He is effectively one” A person who says “I am not and will never be a worshiper of Satan, simply because the devil does not exist” cannot be a Satanist in my opinion. And please, leave aside the “bestie di Satana,” repressed people without a heart. “Manson doesn’t kill people” Thank goodness, I would say! “Death, Euronymous, and Burzum were shitting on this little Warner choirboy” Death BLACK METAL? Oh my God! Come on, don’t tell me that “Symbolic,” “Individual Through Patterns,” and “The Sound Of Perseverance” are Black Metal... and then you say “damn, let’s debate”... “To trash black metal like that on a whim” I listened to “De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas” by Mayhem and it put me to sleep in just a few seconds, not literally, but it was just boring. Instead, read what I wrote above about “For All Tid.”

For the good Workhorse: I won't comment on Gorgoroth (they suck for me too), and if I have to find a true masterpiece in the black metal world, for me that album is "FOR ALL TID" by the subsequently fallen Dimmu Borgir. Sure, the lyrics aren't my style there. But that is an album with some serious balls on my part.
