Beautiful Jurix, with this review you have completely earned my esteem! You simplified and transcribed a thought I've been carrying on for years. I also believe that there is a mountain of unknown music worthy of being listened to and proposed, in every part of the world. And invariably, I always discover that the more stereotyped our view of a certain country is, the more I can find truly valuable and unpredictable works. Long live Arab Trash!

Macaco, I would really like to enlighten you, but sitting behind the skins, I am unable to do so. The diabolical instrument, like the guitar, I have never managed to use properly. Know, however, that these are chords played on different fretboard positions from the canonical ones. It doesn't mean a damn thing, but that's what I've always understood by watching Pix, my (ex) sublime guitarist. My, meaning my (ex) band. You should really talk to a guitarist about it... :)

Otherwise, dear Fosca, start with some songs from each album just to get going. I recommend Debaser (of course!), Where is my mind?, Bone Machine, Gigantic, and Monkey Gone To Heaven. This way you'll have a broader perspective and can better decide which album to start with, in case you like them after the first listen.

Well, well. I return the "aprioristic" friendliness ;)

Brilliant review! The genre doesn’t attract me, but I’ll follow your advice to the letter then.

You’re right, Fosca, desculpe. I mixed it up with the opposite, meaning beautiful mistakes. :) Next time, I’ll mind my own business...

Venusiano, I really don't know about "Math-Tock" ;) However, there is Math-Rock, which is nothing more than a particular derivative of rock (but also of heavy, hard, prog, punk, and other genres related to rock itself) that utilizes rhythmic structures different from the classic 4/4 of rock. Additionally, there is a strong experimental dose and a melodic exploration that tends to move away from classic rock, with jazz contaminations, the use of suspended and dissonant chords, and much more! Examples? I consider Mastodon, Oneida, Hella, and others to be influenced by Math Rock as well. Yet, of these, theoretically, only Hella is considered part of Math Rock. This is to say that the definition is fluid and borders on various Technical Metal, Post Rock, Avant-Garde Metal, etc. etc. Well-written and well-balanced review. Thanks for the tip.

I also prefer their first 2 albums compared to this one. However, it's definitely not bad. 3.5

"Beautiful mistakes"? Fosca... :) A baffling review with a nerve-wracking track by track ending. But the artist deserves it.
