Joe Satriani The extremist

Initially, I was not very convinced by this album, but little by little it's winning me over and it tends to rise, for me as well, after the official critique, as the best record by Satriani. Of course, an album without vocals can be a bit "heavy" for those who don't dedicate themselves to the guitar. I love the opening of Why!

To want to resemble nirvana, you must be really in a bad place! I think I’ve listened to the album once or twice by chance; from what I remember, it has a nice sound. Grunge? I don’t think so! Blurry, which I’ve heard often, is a catchy, emotional, and energetic piece!

Um... you gave a 1 rating to my review... why?

Talking about this film and not others, I have always liked it; it’s certainly not a masterpiece, but when the notes of "Secret Garden" start playing, I surrender and become romantic, I can’t help it. It's a good critique that points out how the beginning of it all is a bit forced and serves only to set up the subsequent unfolding of the story.

It's a bit of a bulky album; in my opinion, the artist's best work is in the first album.

ps. sorry I rated the review a 1, which isn’t bad, instead of the album. I’ll make up for it by balancing!

6 reviews in 10 days! I've read a bit here and there, commenting on the latest one chronologically. Although I haven't followed them closely, the songs I've heard from this group in the past didn't bother me; the singer's voice was a bit annoying, but it fit the musical genre. I found myself listening to this latest work, and it caught me off guard; I didn't find any trace of that group that "didn't bother me." Instead, it was heavy, repetitive music, a disconnected voice—basically, a mess. I didn't like it at all, and I'll probably toss it aside!

Well, I have it, I even tried to feel it, but I really can't understand how one can listen to certain "music"; for me, it's truly inaudible, it causes me anguish! I'll maybe give it a try, but this stuff will never be able to please me, no matter how much effort I put in!

At the 4th "fuck," I stopped; I don't like the subject, but I counted a total of 7. Prince used to get on my nerves (to stay on topic) when I was younger; now I've grown up, I heard a bit of the latest album (planet earth), but it doesn't do much for me anymore.

Nuno is a great guitarist! It’s classic to identify the band with "more than words" while it represents an isolated episode in the band’s musical genre. Before seeing the tablature, I had never noticed that "solo" at the end of the piece, which is barely noticeable but is a show-stopping moment with an acoustic guitar. The rest of the song is simple, but it’s the charisma that matters in playing it.
In general, I’m not crazy about the sounds of this album; it’s a bit outside my style. I vote for my taste, but the album probably deserves a 4.
