JURIX: there's no point in continuing to argue. For him, Metallica are just Metallica, end of story. Whatever they churn out will be seen as a best seller by him. If you don't have the courage to admit that RELOAD is a colossal piece of crap, then you have blinders on. The Black Album can be liked or not, de gustibus. However, it's still a great metal-rock record with some excellent songs. When Metallica made statements like "Metallica have never been a metal band" or others such as "we're not playing metal but to feel metal explode from within" (what the hell does that even mean?), only to return after 10 years to write another thrash album like Death Magnetic (which, by the way, is disgusting), it means they sold their souls to the devil and to money, and the devil's name is Bob Rock. Then FRENK says, "everyone is free to do and/or write whatever they please," which is fine. But you can't say that Metallica (and especially Lars) are a coherent band when they first burst onto the scene with 3 thrash albums that will remain in history with the precise intent to go against the trends of the moment (the very trend they will sell out to in Justice), that of merchandising, the spread of music videos on TV and so on (until Master of Puppets, they were against videos). Then in "…And Justice for All" they shoot the video for "One." We won't even get into the Black Album, where they even release several singles (something they were very much against). Why is this done? Simply put, because the scent of money is in the air. Then the commercial and superficial turn of Load, a nice album and nothing more, where less than half of the songs are salvaged; then the plunge into the abyss with Reload, an album made up of the scraps of Load. An album that contained songs written simultaneously with Load (as stated by Metallica themselves). A crap album. Then a cover album and then a miserable live album with the orchestra (where James seems to sing with the help of a iron lung)... really bad, with songs where the orchestra fits in nowhere (especially The Memory...). Listen to "Live Shit" and then compare it to S&M... it's a whole different thing. Then the Holy Shit (below the abyss) and then the wretchedness of Death Magnetic, an album that kept a few nostalgic fans happy but which now decrees the end of Metallica. James has lost his voice (after the Black Album he died); Ulrich can’t go on anymore. The only one in shape is Hammett, but the good times are buried in the past. I won't comment on the new entry. Certainly, the good Newsted is far better, continuing to carry forward his dream and his coherence.
Goodbye.

FRENK: I'm sorry but... RELOAD puts on me bleeding ulcerative colitis IT'S SO UGLY AND TACKY AND EVEN KILLS THE DEAD! But that's just my personal opinion. Just as it's personal that Metallica haven't hit anything good since the Black Album. It would have been better if they had hung up their instruments rather than tormenting us with albums like Load (nice but nothing more), RELOAD (a hideous piece), St. Anger (the true shit of the entire global music scene), and insipid live performances like S&M (God, what a mess!). Not to mention the last Death Magnetic, which was also a really pathetic thing... poor guys, I almost feel sorry for them. But I repeat... personal opinion...

Come on... the review is well written after all (even if it doesn't really excite me to listen to them). I won't rate the album, but the review is fine.
