Metallica Black Album

Maybe I overdid it by giving it a 5, but I believe the album is still valid. The review, however, really sucks. It's just a concentrate of swear words and vulgarity with no beginning or end. The fact that Metallica pisses off a lot of people (myself included) is a given, considering that they have completely sold their soul to money and the music biz. That Bob Rock is a money-making machine is also immediately clear, and you don't have to be a genius to see it. But just because you don’t like a band doesn’t give you the right to listen to their albums and throw around crap without knowing what you’re writing about. If you don’t like Metallica, why the hell did you write a review of their self-titled album (and not "Black Album," a name coined later by fans and the press)? Okay, it's understandable that this album sounds "commercial" (a term that, to be honest, really means absolutely nothing). But trashing Kill 'Em All (the album without which Megadeth and countless other thrash and pseudo-thrash bands wouldn’t exist) seems downright ridiculous to me. Just like saying they’ve never mattered a damn since the beginning. And at this point, I can’t help but reflect on this: if Fight Fire With Fire had never been composed, would grind exist? Who knows.... From Kill 'Em All to And Justice for All, Metallica represented the INSTITUTION of thrash metal, alongside other sacred monsters of the genre, such as Slayer, Megadeth, Testament, Exodus, and Anthrax (and countless lesser-known bands like Overkill, Annihilator, and the like).
It's one thing that Kirk isn't the best soloist in the world (even if he had Joe Satriani as a teacher), and it's another that the Black Album has Hendrixian reminiscences, but in my opinion, that cannot justify such vulgarity. Especially in a review. Especially on a webzine that has the duty to communicate to the reader an idea of the musical format they would encounter if they approached and/or purchased the album in question. Reading your review, on the other hand, gives the impression that you perfectly know all the vulgarities of the Italian glossary. Congratulations, really. Well done. And I’m not speaking as a fan with blinders on....

I'm sorry, but I really found it beautiful with clear and devoted reminiscences of '80s heavy metal. It doesn't shine with originality, okay. But who shines with originality today?

the most beautiful record in the world!!!!!
Edguy Rocket Ride

their best work, without a shadow of a doubt! They completely abandon power metal, now dead and buried, to dedicate themselves to what Edguy feel they need to play today! I really really really liked it! Go Sammett!
Megadeth The System Has Failed

It's a record with neither head nor tail, unworthy of the name it bears.

Even though we're a group reduced to the core, this album is truly monumental, even if it isn't strictly metal. I don't see what's wrong with producing a metal-rock album, made up of 12 tracks that are each more beautiful than the last, even if a bit "cutesy." And come on, no one is forcing you to buy the Black Album. The only thing that annoys me a bit is the complete exclusion of Newsted from the musical compositions. Other than that, it's a really great album. Perhaps the last of the Four Horsemen.
