there are hundreds of thousands of other bands playing progressive music, and all of them without being as boring as DT. While it's true that some DT albums are really phenomenal (but they are some, indeed), I prefer the post-Empire Queensrÿche, Everon, and Fates Warning. And those are just a few names that come to mind.
And it's not nice to say "go get a job!" because you risk looking like a fool.

Indeed, "Hear...." is the least inspired by the band, but from calling it "evacuating," there’s a big leap... there are plenty of diki laxatives around... oh yes, there are...

P.S.: I don't believe I'm narrow-minded, even though I'm not a "true fan of the DT," also because I really appreciated albums like TOT and Octavarium.

I agree with starblazer... the verbosity of DT in writing music is becoming really tedious and heavy, while their skill and technical expertise remain undeniable. As for the ballads... I don’t share the opinions of those who say they've never been able to write them. "Another Day" and "Surrender" are monumental and timeless.

Damn it! I messed up the name of one of my favorite guitarists! I know it’s Chris DeGarmo... what a fool I am...

It's not that it's horrible... the thing is that it's tremendously poser, in true-truZ-metaller style. To be clear, at first glance I thought the band played some kind of classic metal (early Manowar, Armored Saint...). They were "horny" in that sense, and used covers featuring nothing but tits, muscles, and bikes.
Then again, how can I argue with you? There are truly unbearable covers out there: the entire discography of Manowar is a glaring example.
