Bryan Singer I Soliti Sospetti

seen many years ago, but my memory is of a decidedly mediocre film, while here it’s raining 5 stars, even ranking it among the greatest films of all time...
Stephen King Pet Sematary
Voto:
for me, the movie is a cult!
Martin Scorsese The Aviator
Voto:
DiCaprio excels, Scorsese is definitely subdued, but if we are now doubting a director like him, we're really in trouble. A tremendous master who has created cornerstones of modern cinema: Mean Streets, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, After Hours, Goodfellas, Casino and amazing films like: New York, New York, The Last Temptation of Christ, Cape Fear, The Age of Innocence, Bringing Out the Dead, Gangs of New York, The Departed, (I haven't seen the last one yet).
Enrico Ruggeri Peter Pan
Voto:
certainly!
Stephen King Pet Sematary

Among other things, there have been excellent film adaptations of these two... "Shining" is a masterpiece, but the film makes the book seem ridiculous at times...
Stephen King Pet Sematary
Voto:
I don’t like King; it was part of my adolescent reading, except for the ones I read: "Misery" and "The Dead Zone"...
Thelonious Monk Plays Duke Ellington
Voto:
Not exactly an "unforgettable" album (3.5) among the countless masterpieces of the monk... as you rightly pointed out, it's a commissioned album or, better yet, an imposed one, and you can feel that Monk is somewhat restrained; in fact, a few months later, once freed from the producer's constraints, he will record one of his masterpieces, still for Riverside, "Brilliant Corners."
Martin Scorsese Shutter Island
Voto:
comparing Martin to Pupi is not a great compliment for Scorsese :-)
Gil Scott-Heron I'm New Here

I only have the excellent "From South Africa to South Carolina" by Gil from 1975... then I have a DVD but I haven't watched it yet...
