I liked it; it tells a story and does so in a simple way without too much pretense, avoiding falling too much into sentimentality or cheap patriotism. And the action scenes are crafted to perfection. Critics say it oversimplifies the original subject, the autobiography of Chris Kyle: this is undoubtedly true, but probably a closer adherence would have made the film unbearable.
